Carrie's Crumbs

Michigan is where it all started... I was born here on Thanksgiving Day in 1978 where I lived for a short while before moving several times with my family- including places like Savannah, Georgia & Sedalia, Missouri before finally ending up back here in Michigan. Which I am grateful for because this is were I met my Husband Mark in 1997. After just 3 months of dating we were engaged! We were married on May 15, 1999.

Then, just a little over 14 months later our first little angel, a baby girl we named Alyssa was born. Just a short (or what seemed short to me) 25 months later our son Kyle was born! Then another surprise arrived 22 months later, our son Matthew was born!!

As for lampworking ~ I absolutely love it! I discovered it August of 2003, bought all the things to get started and that was it, I was hooked! I am self-taught, and I have practiced and worked very hard to get to where I am at.  I have NEVER taken a lampworking class! I am stubborn like that I guess, but there is just something about figuring things out by myself that I really love.   When I was younger I always loved Art class and English.  Journalism was my calling when I was a teenager.  I had several articles published in the Monroe Evening News.  The first one when I was just 13 years old.  Someday I would love to write and publish a children's book!

I come from a long line of very talented artistic individuals.  My Mom being the first and most talented of anyone that I know.  She paints beautiful pictures and has always been extremely creative and has even won several awards for her efforts.  Someday I will get her online so that I can show off her talent! My brother Dan can draw the most unbelievable pictures I have ever seen!  And My sister does gorgeous stained-glass windows :0) Anyhow, the list goes on and on...but you get the idea :)

I know I will be making lampwork glass beads for as long as I can. I love the different color combinations, and the chance to express myself creatively through lampworking is great~ plus I work at night while the kids are asleep (they go to bed early).  So don't worry I am not neglecting anybody! LOL! So this is the perfect creative outlet for me! And of course the people I meet through making beads are great and sooo friendly! I use to make jewelry, but after getting started w/ lampworking I haven't had much time. I have discovered that lampworking is my true passion and what I have had the most success at! Thanks for taking the time to read about me!
